Default - Humanity
From Open Source Tabletop
An obvious question that to arise is why aren't Humans listed as a playable race in the races section. This is because in this game setting humans are extinct. If you make your own game setting using the OSTS mechanics (which you are encouraged to) then you can make them non-extinct. Let me just tell you why they are dead
The Mighty Human Empire
Nobody really knows when humans started to make a large presence in the world but eventually due to there fast breeding (commonly compared to rabbits) humans became the dominate population. Eventually the humans decided that sense they outnumbered everybody else that everybody else should do there bidding. This lead to an powerful government referred to as the Mighty Human Empire.
The humans forced the other races into submission often through very brutal methods. The humans weird afraid that if they allowed the other races to thrive that they may rise up and defeat the humans. This lead to the humans eventually declaring all other races as animals only fit to work as slaves for their human masters.
The humans it seemed were very knowledgeable and created horrific weapons of war to keep the other races under their feet. One of the greatest examples of the humans' superior technology was the Constructs. The constructs were made in the humans' image as creatures of magic and metal. They existed to keep the non-human population in check and allowed the humans to rule from far away from their slaves and still be sure to keep control.
Rebellion
The mighty human empire lasted for about a thousand years until the inevitable happened; the other races rose up and with the help of the Constructs who eventually gained sentience declared war on the humans. The war lasted for a couple hundred years and was incredibly bloody on both sides but eventually the non-human races won and deciding that the humans were to dangerous very quickly made the humans extinct.
